DS125BR820: What's the difference between the DS125BR820 and DS125BR800A?

Part Number: DS125BR820
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS125BR800A

Hi team,

What's the difference between the DS125BR820 and DS125BR800A? Thanks.

  • Hello -

Unlike DS125BR800A, the DS125BR820 features a linear / non-limiting output driver that allows seamless PCIe link training.  The DS125BR820 features a Receive CTLE with up to 10 dB at 6 GHz.

The DS125BR800A features a receive CTLE with more boost (up to 30 dB at 6 GHz) plus TX equalization (TX De-emphasis), however, its output driver is a limiting driver and it does not pass PCIe TX presets.

For PCIe applications, the DS125BR820 is a preferred option.

    Best regards,

    Davor
