SN75LVDS83B: SN75LVDS83B 24bit Format2 setting

Part Number: SN75LVDS83B

Hi Team,

My customer is using the SN75LVDS83B for the RGB - LVDS solution.

And they're using the FORMAT 2 of the 24-bpp LCD display mode.

I checked the wire connecting is all right but don't find any instruction on how to set the format 2 rather than format 1 for the 24-bit mode in the datasheet.

Right now there's some problem with the color display, but the content is all right.

So I'm wondering how this device know it should be working in the FORMAT 2 of 24-bit mode? Any hardware or software setting is needed?

  • Hi Steven,

You should compare Figure 1 in the SN75LVDS83B datasheet:

with the corresponding input format illustrated in the display datasheet.

For example, if the input format illustrated on the display datasheet looks like the below:

then you would map input pin D0 on the SN75LVDS83B to bit R0, D1 to bit R1, D2 to bit R2, etc.

Note that this is a hardware setting as the format is determined by how the input pins on the SN75LVDS83B are connected to the output pins of the processor.

    Regards,

    I.K.
