TPS65987DDJ: Windows 19H2 HLK test failure

Part Number: TPS65987DDJ

Hi, everyone,

We're designing PC using TPS65987DDJ,
OS: Windows 10 (19H2)
Base FW: F807.12.37

and now, we've faced the problem about HLK test:

Fail:  UCSI Power Direction Role command - Reset on PPM-Reset
Fail: UCSI GetPDOs, partner Source Capabilities

Have you heard concerned problems?

By the way, we passed same test by our product using TPS65987DDH.

OS: Windows 10 (19H2)

Base FW: F707.10.05

So we wonder if there're any countermeasure uncontained in DDJ FW against 19H2 HLK test.

Best Regards,

  • Hi Maurice,

Would you be able to share your UCSI test logs for each failure? Also, if you have a logic analyzer, could you capture the I2C communication between the EC and our PD controller during these commands? Finally, if you could share a CC capture between the port under test, and the UCSI tester during each of these UCSI tests. Having these three pieces of information should help us solve the issue.

  • Hi, Adam-san,

I sent your colleague Yone-san these log files (HLK, I2C, USBPD)

    about these 2 failure:

Fail:  UCSI Power Direction Role command - Reset on PPM-Reset
Fail: UCSI GetPDOs, partner Source Capabilities

    So please confirm these files.

About HLK log file, this software is available.

Please click the link "Windows HLK, version 1903".

    Best Regards,

  • Hi, Adam-san,

    Thank you for your reply.

We've solved these 2 problem by EC.

    So I'll close this topic.

    Thank you for your cooperation.

    Best Regards,

  • Hello Maurice-san,

Glad to hear you were able to resolve the issue. Apologize for not replying sooner, I have been out on business travel. Let me know if you have any other questions
