TPD3E001: Can TPD3E001 be used in the SPI interface hot swap function?

Part Number: TPD3E001

Hi team,

My customer is developing below circuit. They use 2 MUX devices to switch one SPI interface to 2 connectors. The 2 connectors will be connected to some external modules so the 2 connectors need to endure hot swap. So I think we'd better add some ESD protection between the MUX and the connector to protect the MUX devices during hot swap. The requirement is as below:

1. The SPI data speed is 10Mbps.

2. The whole system needs to meet IEC contact 8kV and air-gap 15kV. But these 2 connectors don't need to pass IEC ESD test. The 2 connectors only need to endure how swap. So the question is we don't know how much current and voltage will be generated during the hot swap process.

So do you have any advice on how  to protect the MUX from being damaged in hot swap? Is TPD3E001 a good choice? Thanks.

Best regards,

Wayne
