Hi Team,

My customer would like to use the following solution, is it can be achieved?

Actually I also help to calculate, as for 948, it can support 3.36G when using single lane and 941 also can support 3.675G.

So just want to double confirm whether it works?

Hi Amelie,

The max line rate for the 941as is 3.675 Gbps, but if we take into account the SER overhead (~25%), the max data rate per link is ~2.94 Gbps. We give a conservative value for our SER overhead, so this topology may still be ok, but you will need to try this to determine for sure.

In my customer application, they may have ~10% margin compared to ~25%.

Because their pclk is 87M, and 948 is 96M, 87M/96M=90%.

Does it matter?

I think more customer also have the same application: 941+948 with 1920*720 display.

Is it can support by 941+948 with 1920*720 display?

Hi Amelie,

After consulting with my teamate, this application is doable. Your only concern for bandwidth is the pixel clock, so as long as each link is < 96 MHz, that is ok. However, please take in to account that if you are doing splitting, the smaller display will need to handle a lot of blanking. You need to check your panel specs for that smaller resolution display. Additionally, you will most likely need to feed in to reference clock sources to REFCLK0 & REFCLK1 for the different pixel clocks on each link. There is an M/N divider, but the external reference clock will be the most straightforward method.
