My customer wants to use TRS3232E-Q1 in half duplex.

Can it be used with a half-duplex line ?

Please answer the following questions when available.

1.What should the peripheral circuit be ?

2.Is Pull Up/Down necessary to fix the input side ?

3.I think it is necessary to connect the input and output with resistors.
How much protective element is required in the vicinity to protect the absolute maximum ratings In ± 25V and Out ± 13.2V ?

Koji,

Can you elaborate what you meant by half-duplex? Does the diagram look some like this?

I'm not sure if you can implement this by TRS3232E-Q1, since TX and RX cannot be enabled separately.

The connection is correct in Hao-san's diagram.

Could you disclose the equivalent circuit of TRS3232E-Q1 ?
In particular, I want to know the equivalent circuit for the DOUT and RIN pins.
