DS25CP102: "Differential Input threshold" vs "common mode voltage"

Part Number: DS25CP102

Hi Team,

Do you have any data, which shows "Differential Input threshold" vs "common mode voltage"?
According to LVDS specification, Differential Input threshold should be less than +/- 100mV at min and max rail of Vcm.
So I can understand its maximum point but my customer wants to know which voltage it should be minimum.

Takashi Onawa

  • Hi  Takashi-san,

The datasheet tests the input common mode voltage and the differential input threshold concurrently.  It uses a 100mV input voltage and checks the device response at a common mode of 0.05V and VCC-0.05V.

For the minimum Vcm measurement @ 0.05V the input voltages on IN+/- are 100mV and 0.0V.

  • Hi Lee-san,

In order to ensure that the differential voltage threshold is ±100 mV in the interval between the two points, I think it should have a trend of monotonic increase or decrease with respect to Vcm though, which condition is min and max?

  • Hi Takashi-san,

I have located the characterization data for these devices.

The actual VTH data is much lower than the datasheet specification.

Split      N        Avg     Median      Sigma        Min          Max     -6 Sigma  %FAIL   +6 Sigma

    VTH_N0/ Grouped to: VTH_N0 (mV)
                6456    -2.1676         -2      5.4311        -32           18      -34.754   0.00     30.419   0.00

The average value is -2.1676mV, the minimum across VCM is -32mV and the maximum is +18mV

    VTH_P0/ Grouped to: VTH_P0 (mV)
                6456   -0.0607  3.2e-11     5.4835        -20           34      -32.962   0.00      32.84    0.02

The average value is -0.06mV, the minimum across VCM is -20mV and the maximum is +34mV
