Hi,

 I have the below questions w.r.t the DP83869 chipset

1. When do we need to choose between 2 Supply OR 3 Supply configuration

2. There is a certain way of power sequencing is explained in the datasheet , but in the EVM Schematic i donot see any sequencing kind of power supply enable done. Is Power Sequencing mandatory?

3. Planning to use this chip for RGMII to Fibre optics mode. Can the Bootstrap setting be done through Register programming OR it is to be hardwired using the bootstrap pins?

    Hi Sudarshan,

    Thank you for you questions, please see my responses below:

    1. You can choose either 2 supply mode or 3 supply mode at any time. Supplying the 1.8V supply in 3 supply mode give additional power savings and VDD1P8 pins should be no-connect if not being supplied 1.8V.

    2. Yes, the power sequencing should be followed as instructed in the datasheet. 

    3. RGMII to Fibre can be selected either through bootstrapping pins or register programming.
