DS280BR820: Related to S-parameter file & Floor plane for upgraded version which can support 32 Gbps speed

Hi Team,

I got S-parameter file for TI repeater ds280br820 from TI.

I want to know that @ what Equalization values this S-parameters are extracted..

I performed simulation using s-parameters of TI repeater & other passive components of my circuit.I got results as follow:

 You see here that losses are increasing as frequency increasing.I want to equalize high frequency losses.

If you have 6 dB Equalization S-parameter file, please share to me.

Also we are close to use this repeater in one of my project so i also want to know floor plane for upgraded version of this to support higher rate like 32 Gbps or more.

    I believe that you downloaded the DS280BR820 IBIS-AMI model zip file from TI.com product page. Is that correct?

    The attached model files package does not contain CTLE s-parameters. Instead the files include IBIS-AMI model for the repeater, where the CTLE values for the two boost stages are adjustable AMI parameters. Refer to the attached model user's guide.

    Yes,I have Downloaded DS280BR820 IBIS-AMI model zip file from TI.com product page.Along with that i also downloaded  DS280BR820EVM_RevE_sparams folder.For simply insertion loss & return loss characterization, i was using  S4P file of Tx & Rx from DS280BR820EVM_RevE_sparams folder.Is this file contain some Specific Equalization value?

    Yes, while doing IBIS AMI model of DS280BR820, i will follow the steps to set values as recommended in Model User's guide pdf provided by you.

    Actually i am performing 2 simulation:

    • S-parameter for  insertion loss & return loss 
    • Channel simulation for Eye generation & analysis

    The Tx & Rx .s4p files from the DS280BR820EVM_RevE_sparams folder are for the DS280BR820 repeater evaluation board channels (i.e. PCB trace + MXP connector.) The repeater CTLE boost s-parameters are not included there.
