TPD4E001-Q1: Q1 4 channel ESD protection diode

Hi,

I am looking for a 4 channel protective ESD diode similar to TPD4E001-Q1.

I need the below requirements:

  - need to provide protection of short to protected channels (this would be for a longer duration than the discharge event, 16-18V sufficient)
  - ESD protection ( >= 8kV)

Would this be a good part to use for the application? Or is there another that is recommended?

    Additionally, my IC that is being protected has an abs max of 6V on the pins. Does this mean I need a clamping voltage of 6V? Can this be provided by the TPD4E001-Q1?

    Hi Jalen,

    Welcome to E2E!

    For a 4 channel device the TPD4E001-Q1 meets the ESD protection you mentioned, but does not offer short circuit protection. The ESD devices in our portfolio only have ESD and surge protection functionality. The duration and power of each standard is talked about in detail in the application report "IEC 61000-4-xTestsfor TI’s ProtectionDevices" found in this link. Our devices can only protect against these standards, which do not include short circuit events.
