ONET8501 application question

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ONET8501V

Dear Sir

Good days,

May we check with you what is "Temperature Sensor Shift" and "Temperature Sensor Slope" function?

And how to use these two register?(I have check DS page 8, but still not clear)

Another question is we measure 8501V(8501V+8501PB) TS pin and measured TS voltage is 1.5V. but find TS pin have pike noise around 0.4V and frequenct about 50KHz. it may affect temperature measurement. may you have some suggestion for this issue?

  • Hello Bogey.

The temperature sensor in the ONET8501V is not trimmed internally to reduce part-to-part variation. This is why we only state a typical accuracy of +/-4degC. It should be noted that this will not meet the SFF=8472 digital diagnostic requirement of +/-3degC if you are following this standard.

To try and reduce the prt-to-part variation of the temperature sensor output voltage register 10 can be used to adjust the offset (intercept) of the line and register 11 can be used to adjust the slope of the line to try and keep the voltage vs temperature curves the same. Each part would have to be adjusted during setup and there is not a definitive method to make the adjustments becasue each curve can be differnet to start with. It has been my general recommendaton not to use these registers.

I'm not sure why you have some noise on the TS output. What type of load do you have connected to the pin? Is the pin connected to the input of an ADC on an MCU? Some more information would be helpful.

    Regards,

    Alex.

  • Dear Alex

Many thanks for your reply, Here add capacitor to filiter noise.

now customer havre no other issue.

                                            best regards,

                                                           Bogey
