ONET4211LD / to set APC-loop disable mode

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ONET4211LD

Hi,

Our customer want to set APC loop disable mode.

So,they connected a resistor from APCSET to VCC and leaving PD open.

But,output amplitude could not be change.

What must we set up anything else?

When we can set it,the output amplitude grows big depending to the input amplitude?

Best Regards,

  • To use the ONET4211LD open loop mode:

    1. Connect the APCSET pin to VCC with a 2kohm resistor.

    2. The DC bias current is adjusted through the IBMAX pin.

    3. I suggest that the FLTMODE pin be set high initially for debug. This way if a fault occurs, it will not shut down the bias and modulation current.

The peak-to peak output amplitude is controlled with the MODSET pin. The output amplitude is independent of the input amplitude.

  • Alex-san,

    Thank you for the answer.

    I have adittional question.

Our customer want to change AC voltage input (up to 5GHz) to current output.

As a condition, the output amplitude grows big depending to the input amplitude.

    Would you recommend another device?

  • Hello Kato.

From my understanding, you want a device that can control the output amplitude by changing the input amplitude. If this is correct, then the ONET4211LD is not the correct part. The input amplitude to the ONET4211LD has no affect on the output amplitude of the part. The output amplitude is controlled throught the MODSET pin.
