Limiting/transimpedance amps with AGC disable

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65LVCP1412

I would like to find a TI transimpedance amplifer or limiter amplifier that has AGC disable/bypass - so I can use it as a linear amplfier.

Do you have any?

  • Hi Howard,

No, we do not have any TIAs or LAs with this ability. The dynamic range is too wide to be used in a linear mode. This is why AGC is needed.

We do have the SN65LVCP1412 which is a linear equalizer that was developed for backplane applications. It may or may not meet the requirements of your application but please have a look at the data sheet to see. If you could provide me a bit more detail about your application I may be able to recommend something or point you in a different direction as TI does have a high speed amplifier team.

  • Michael,

we have previously used a linear TIA from Inphi to act as a differential Low Noise wide band amplifier.

AGC was set to manual mode.

Their part is going EOL so we want to see if TI can supply us with something.

Is there anything you can do for us?

    My phone number is 703-574-6059.

    Thank you

  • Hello Howard,

I'm sorry but we do not have a linear TIA that you can disable the AGC or set it to manual control.

    Alex.
