ONET4201LD - Logical Pin Ties

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ONET4201LD

I am setting some of the mode pins on the ONET4201LD (specifically the fault mode pin) and the datasheet says to tie this to VCC. or to GND. My question is, can I tie this pin up to VCC with a pull up resistor (4.7K) or is a direct connection to VCC required? I like putting pull-ups when a pin is tied. This gives me a way of disconnecting the pin after the board has been fabricated (flexibility).

Thank you,

  • Mike,

The FLTMODE pin is a digital input and a pull-up is not required. The normal mode of operation is to have this pin grounded. For debug purposes, it may be useful to tie this pin to VCC. You can still use a resistor, just use zero ohm resistors. You can use one to VCC and another to GND and use only the one for the mode you want.

    Regards,

    Alex.
