ONET1151L: ONET1151L connecting to TOS with cathode of the photodiode is common with the anode of the laser driver…

Part Number: ONET1151L

Hey Todd,

I have a customer trying to connect the following Finisar Tosa to the ONET1151L.  Is there a way to connect this deivce to te ONET part or do they need to use different part?

How would we connect up the two devices?

I’m concerned because the cathode of the photodiode is common with the anode of the laser driver…

Thanks,

  • Hi Todd,

In a typical implementation of the ONET1151L, the MOD- outputs (which is a CML-out pins) must be connected to the anode of DML TOSA, while the PD (analog in) pin of the ONET1151L connects to the cathode of  monitor photodiode terminal.

So the TOSA should have unconnected photodiode cathode and LD anodes. Please suggest using such a DML TOSA to the customer.

    Thanks,

    Sri
