SN75LVCP601EVM: Eval board schematics "RX1P" connected to "TX-" and "RX1N" connected to "TX+"

Hi,

looking at page 5 of the LVCP601 Evaluation Module datasheet  - http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sllu211/sllu211.pdf - I get very confused.

According to the schematic, SATA redriver pin RX1P is connected to SATA male connector pin TX-. 

Is this an error or are "P" signals really meant to be connected to "-" and "N" signals to "+" in the SN75LVCP601 schematics?

  • Hi Eirik,

    The input and output signals have been swapped to improve the EVM routing.  This results in a double inversion so overall the correct polarity is received by the system.  The SN75LVCP601 itself does not look at the byte by byte protocol information so it is not impacted by the inverted data.
