In our application, we want to connect the ground pin of SN65LVDT100 to a negative voltage, such as -1V?
Is it working properly?
This is OK to do, but you need to make sure that you are operating within the recommended spec range for the device. The datasheet's single-ended voltage specifications (such as the supply voltage, the input voltage at each pin, and the output common mode voltage) are defined with respect to the voltage at the device's ground pin. If the device's ground is 1 V lower than your your system's ground, then all of these specs need to also be decreased by 1 V.
For example, the recommended supply voltage (Vcc) range is 3.0 V to 3.6 V above the device's ground. If the device's ground is at -1 V in your application, then the supply voltage range for you would be 2.0 V to 2.6 V. Similarly, the input voltage (Vi) range is specified to be 0 V to 4 V above the device's ground. This range would translate to -1 V to 3 V in your application.
