Can DS25BR100 be used to the following request spec?

----------------------------------
○bit rate                  3.125Gbps
○No of CH              1CH(Full duplex)
○Retimer              None
○Cable lengh           Max 100cm
○Protocol/Decod AURORA(XILINX)8b/10b
----------------------------------

When cannot use DS25BR100, please let me know a recommended device.

Best regards,

Satoshi

  • Hi Satoshi,

The DS25BR100 supports 1-channel. Can you advise what type of cable customer wants to use?

DS25BR110 has stronger input equalizer and is more suitable for cable operation. The datasheet of DS25BR110 has some cable performance characteristics.

Please also clarify full duplex. Do you mean bi-directional over 2 differential pairs, one pair for TX, one pair for RX?

If so, you need two DS25BR110, one for each pair at the receive end.

  • Hi Satoshi-san,

Alternatively, a better selection than the DS25BR100 is the DS32EV100.

Looking at the Aurora 8b/10b spec, I see the following requirements at 3.125 Gbps:

    TX Spec:

    RX Spec:

This differential input voltage requirement looks more suitable for CML instead of LVDS, due to the characteristic of the expected TX output differential voltage as well as the need for AC coupling in an 8B/10B environment. Therefore, a comparable equalizer to the DS25BR100, but made suitable for this application, is the DS32EV100, an equalizer that provides up to 14 dB of gain at 3.125 Gbps and also uses CML inputs/outputs. See specs below:

    Thanks,
