[ DS90Ux925/6 ] BCC Watchdog Timer Setting

Hi,
When BCC Watchdog timer of DS90UH926 is set to minimum value (2mS), while opposite end (DS90UH925) still keep default value (254mS), in this situation, does this cause any kind of concerns?
It's appreciated, if you can share what we should check for actual system with these different settings.
Thanks,
Ken

  • Hi Ken,

The mismatch of watchdog timer settings shouldn't be a problem. I actually think that it is fairly common to have the side with the microcontroller host (usually SER in infotainment systems) with a longer watchdog timer. This gives time for the messages to go across the link, and have the remote device do some processing if needed.

The remote side (DES) may only need a short watchdog timer, since the slave device should be able to respond quickly.

    Thanks,
    Jason
