DS90UH926 pattern generation.

No, there is no way to program a unique pattern inside our chip. There is no register space dedicated to the available patterns - they are computed in real time as they are being sent out. That's why the resolution can be changed, otherwise there would need to be patterns stored at each resolution.

So as an alternative I was thinking of using a HDMI port on a PC to generate the pattern. So to do this I would use the DS90UH925 and the TI TFP401A. Using the TFP401A to convert a HDMI signal from a PC.  Then connecting the TFP401A to the DS90UH925 to generate LVDS signal to the DS90UH926 which is connected to a LCD. Do you think what I described will work ? or would you have a better, simpler solution ?

I noticed that there is a DS90UH929 serializer.  Can I use this 929 serializer with the 926 Deserializer ?

Yes, the 929 is compatible with the 926.

One other question.  We have an I2S signal that is generated by a 16bit I2S Audio ADC.  The I2S interface on the serialiser/deserialiser doesn't care if it is 16 or 24 bit data word?

I see your trying to generate a test colour screen, i am using i2c to control my 926 but cannot get it to display anything on a known good tft display.. did you come across anything odd with your setup? From my code with the pic, good known working routines i can see all my data going in on the scope but the display just blankly stares at me.. any suggestins welcomed..
