RGB565 output in DS90UB926.

Hi,

I'm considering use of DS90UB926 for output of a TFT display.

But, I'd like to reduce the number of bits of the output, so it prefers to output by RGB565 format.

I read a datasheet, there was no mentioning about RGB565, and I didn't know whether it could be used.

It outputs by the format of RGB666, and is it possible to use as RGB565 format by using only upper 5bit of output of B and R?

Would I be able to achieve RGB565 format output by an upper way?

But, I don't know whether serializer input is RGB666 or RGB565.

When it can't correspond to RGB565 easily, it'll be used in RGB666.

Hello Tomoaki,

You can use the upper bits of each color to get RGB565 output. As long as the 925 side has RGB666 or RGB888 input, you can take whichever bits you need out of the 926 output and ignore the rest.
