LMH1981 / Line transceiver for output signal

Hi,

Customer is considering line transceiver, or driver and receiver for LMH1981 outputs. I have attached system configuration diagram.

Their system is 4k transmission equipment. Each LMH1981 has to control own and other FPGA via back plane.

What devices are suitable for driver and receiver ? In addition, could LVCMOS,TTL signal be used between modules ?

LMH1981 period jitter is in the 400~1500 ps p-p range, so the drivers/receivers don’t need to be very high performance. The HS/VS/OEOUT signals from LMH1981 are 3.3V LVCMOS levels, and have narrow sync pulse widths and low frame/line rates (Hz~kHz range).

Depending on the backplane characteristics, I would suggest a triple(quad)-channel LVDS driver/receiver for low-power & noise immunity with DC-coupling due to the low frequency/duty cycle.

Kato-San,

Please consider DS90LT012A or DS90LV019. Please take a look at the spec for these two devices.

Thank you for your information.

Each LMH1981 has to control own and other FPGA via back plane.So, I considering Multipoint-Low-Voltage Differential
Signaling (M-LVDS) is needed.Is my understanding correct ? Please let me know the recommendable M-LVDS.

Also, please take a look at DS91C180 as well to see if it meets customer need.

Thank you for the information.

After all customer is considering Half Duplex Transceiver. Could we propose SN65MLVD204A for their system ? Because the device is a low-cost Transceiver.

I looked at the SN65LVD204A and it is rated for 50MHz clock and below. LMH1981 video frame sync signals are in order of KHz. So the customer should be able to use SN65LVD204A.
