About DS100DF410 vs DS100RT410 question

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS100DF410, DS100RT410

Dear Sirs

I have three questions about DS100DF410 and DS100RT410.

1.What is the different between DS100DF410  and DS100RT410?

In my opinion, DS100DF410 has more DFE function.

DS100RT410 (EQ+CDR+DE): 10.3125 Gbps

DS100DF410 (EQ+DFE+CDR+DE): 10.3125 Gbps

Is there any other difference?

2.Is the two part pin to pin? (DS100DF410  and DS100RT410)

3.Is there any test report for DS100DF410 (when DS100DF410 use DFE function or not?

Thanks

BRS

  • Hi Nat,

    1. The only difference between the DS100DF410 and the DS100RT410 is that the DF has the addition of a DFE built into the receiver.

    2. The parts are pin-to-pin compatible.

    3. We do not have a test report that I am aware of that shows a comparison of the DF410 with/without DFE. In most customer situations, the use of the DFE is not critical to the design, as the Rx CTLE alone is able to overcome largely attenuated incoming signals. The use of the DFE can be particularly helpful in instances where there are reflections or crosstalk, but during system bring-up, it is typically recommended to try with adaptive CTLE only first. Then, if the result is not satisfactory, try adding in DFE capability in.
