    Hello,

    The app note is making reference to an explanation of EEPROM hex files and their format. There is an app note (SNLA228) that explains how master mode works as well as general information about hex file syntax, header bytes, and address bytes. Though this app note is centered around the high speed repeaters and mux/buffers, the only difference between these products and the high speed retimers is that there are more data bytes allocated for the retimer EEPROM.

    Perhaps a more specific retimer EEPROM resource for understanding the bytes used for EEPROM is in the DS125DF410EVK User's Guide, p. 30-50.
