SN65DP159 polarity swap

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65DP159

Dear Sir

I would like to know what’s different between SWAP/POL=H or L???

Is it mean ,

if SWAP=H ,IN_CLKP will be go through OUT_CLKN and IN_CLKN will be go through OUT_CLKP

If SWAP=L ,IN_CLKP will be go through OUT_CLKP and IN_CLKN will be go through OUT_CLKN

Is it correct ??

  • Dear Sir

    One more question

If i want to use SWAP_EN and LANE_Polarity function at the same time in I2C mode ,Could I do this ??

So Pin mode can't use SWAP_EN and LANE_Polarity function at the same time ,just can select one of mode ,is it correct ??

  • Hello Kai,

We are reviewing your questions and we will reply soon.

  • Dear Diego

    Thanks for your support

    I looking forward your reply

    Thanks
  • Hello Kai,

    Q1:

if SWAP=H ,IN_CLKP will be go through OUT_CLKN and IN_CLKN will be go through OUT_CLKP

If SWAP=L ,IN_CLKP will be go through OUT_CLKP and IN_CLKN will be go through OUT_CLKN

    Is it correct ??

    A1:

    Yes, that is correct.

When SWAP/POL is high, the n and p pins on each lane will swap and when is low the input lanes swap as per table below.

    Q2:

If i want to use SWAP_EN and LANE_Polarity function at the same time in I2C mode ,Could I do this ??

So Pin mode can't use SWAP_EN and LANE_Polarity function at the same time ,just can select one of mode ,is it correct ??

    A2:

Yes, according to the device datasheet  in order to enable Swap and Polarity functions at the same time you need to set the I2C_EN/PIN and access the 0X09 register. Otherwise, when I2C_EN/PIN=0 you can only selected polarity swap, lanes swap or normal working.

  • Dear Joel

    Thanks for your reply

So far we meet a issue

    1. CPU use BIOS HDMI protocol 4k/2k/30 input to SN65DP159 ,DP159 could display 4k/2k/30 normally

    2. CPU use BIOS DP protocol 4k/2k/60 input to SN65DP159 ,DP159 can't display 4k/2k/30 ,we got 2k/1k/60 only

We follow SN65DP159 EVM reference design

If I want to use DP protocol input to DP159 ,should I need to use 48pin RGZ package to design

Due to RGZ package support AUX channel ,Is it correct ??

    Please kindly help to recommend

    Thanks
