Hi Team,

Please allow me to ask you if DS125DF410 could support 6G-SDI scrambled data.

I understand that retimer could support the 6G-SDI data rate (5.94Gbps) if the VCO range is manually programmed.
I believe the device is not tested for SDI protocol, however, could you please tell us if the device could support 6G-SDI scrambled data or not ?

- There interface would not be 6G-SDI. They are considering optical interface.
- Data rate is not fixed yet, but, it may be 6G-SDI scrambled data or 8B10B encoded 5.x to 6.x Gbps data rate (around 6Gbps).

Hi Kawai-San,

DS125DF410 should be able to handle 6G SDI scrambled data. We have a customer who is using DS125DF410 in this mode.

Kawai-San,

In this type of application, we should care about pathological data pattern and making sure we use high AC coupling Cap value to compensate for the low frequency content of the pathological video pattern.

Hi Kawai-san,

Looking at the recommendation for the LMH1218, which can be used for 12G and 6G applications, I suggest using a 4.7 uF AC coupling cap for SDI-relevant data.
