DS90CR484A and DS90CR484A use for CameraLink

Hi all,

Would you mind if we ask DS90CR484A and DS90CR484A?
DS90CR484A and DS90CR484A are Ser-Des device for Channel link1.

So, when we use these for CameraLink, how much will the maximum cable length?
Because, typically, the maximum cable length of Channel link1 is upto 3m.

CameraLink is required the cable length 7m.

We need your help.

Matsumoto-San,

Long cable length and skew between different channel can violate skew margin requirement of the device. For long cable reach it is better to use Channel Link 2. With Channel Link 2 we can use DS30BA101 and DS30EA101 to extend the cable reach. Is this possible? Also, if possible could you please provide us a block diagram of the overall application so perhaps we can make some suggestion.

We are confirming our customer whether it is possbile to use channel link2 or not.
And then, our customer is in the development stage.
So, if we get much detail information, we will inform.

We checked our customer's request as followings.

<Requirement>
Data rate : 4Gbps
Method : Camera Link

The maximum data rate of Channel Link2 is upto 3Gbps.
So, we choose Channel Link1, don't we?

Greetings Matsumoto-San,

We have had customers using greater than 5m cable length. DS90CR484A can support +/-1bit deskew with DC balanced enabled. Please advise the customer to make sure their cable skew/quality guarantees less than 1 LVDS bit skew plus some margin.

Thank you for your so kind cooperation and your reply.
OK, we will advise the customer to make sure their cable skew/quality guarantees less than 1 LVDS bit skew plus some margin.

We have only one confirmation about Equalaizing at De-serializer side(DS90CR484A).
In this case, signal conditioning on the each LVDS channels are not required, are they?
(DS90CR483A has Pre-emphasis function.)

Matsumoto-San,

This depends on the cable quality or loss characteristics of the cable they are using. They may need to use pre-emphasis(based on cable insertion loss performance).
