DS125DF410 - Receiving LMH0340 differential signal with DS125DF410

Hi Team,

Could you please let me confirm if DS125DF410 could receive differential signal from LMH0340 ?
I believe the device could receive and lock to the 3G and HD SDI rate if registers programmed correctly.

Please give us your opinion.

Kawai

  • Hi Kawai,

The DS125DF410 can be programmed to receive and lock to the SMPTE 2.97/1.485 Gbps datarates.  The LMH0340 integrates a SMPTE compliant cable driver.  This output is expecting to drive a 75 Ohm load.  The DS125DF410 integrates a 100 Ohm differential input termination.  External circuitry will be required to match the DS125DF410 receiver with the loading expected by the LMH0340 output.  A first order method to matching would be the addition of 25 Ohm series resistors at the IN+ and IN- pins of the DS125DF410.  Since this will attenuate the input signal amplitude, I would expect some reduction in DS125DF410 receiver performance.

  • Hi Lee-san,

Thank you for your advice. We will ask customer for testing the operation using the EVM.
