DS80PCI402 BIOS POST issue

Dear Sir,

My customer found out that when their board with DS80PCI402, their BIOS POST time became a little bit longer than without DS80PCI402.

They doubt during BIOS POST DS80PCI402 is considered as a device. They want to make sure is this right?

Hi James,
The DS80PCI402 is a PCI redriver. The time it takes for the CPU to configure the DS80PCI402 is really dependent on the software. I do not expect it will be long.

Hi,

During the POST the BIOS is likely searching for the expected PCIe hardware. During this time the DS80PCI402 will take some additional time to validate and configure its termination based on Rx Detect sequences. Adding the DS80PCI402 into a link will extend this time by ~ 24 milli-seconds.
