Difference between SN65LVDS2D and SN65LVDT2D

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65LVDT2, SN65LVDS2

Dear Sir,

I have selected the LVDS driver SN65LVDS1D for our new design.

When I searched for the receiver, I came across two different part numbers which are SN65LVDS2D and SN65LVDT2D. As I checked the datasheet and the description, I couldn't find the difference between these two parts numbers. But the cost is little bit different for these two part numbers.

I would like to know whether there is any difference between these two part numbers of the receiver and if there is any, please highlight the differences in order to understand them properly to select for my design.

Thanks,

Vasanthan N

  • Hello Vasanthan,

The SN65LVDT2D differs from the SN65LVDS2 in that it incorporates an integrated termination resistor (100 ohms) along with the receiver. This termination would take the place of the matched load line termination mentioned above. The SN65LVDT2 can be used in a point-to-point system or in a multidrop system when it is the last receiver on the multidrop bus. The SN65LVDT2 device should not be used at every node in a multidrop system as this would change the loaded bus impedance throughout the bus resulting in multiple reflections and signal distortion.

    Regards,
