SN65LV1023A bias voltage

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65LV1023A

Hello,

Our customer is using the SN65LV1023A in a serdes application.

We’re wondering if the “Vos Offset Voltage” stated in the datasheet as [ 1.1 Vmin, 1.3 Vmax ] is the same as the bias voltage the de-serializer expects on the LVDS lines?

We ran into an issue because we had the transmit and receive pair transformer isolated, but didn’t bias the transformer center taps on the de-serializer to any voltage. We tried 1.5V and seems to be working now, but is higher than 1.3V mentioned in the datasheet.

Does this violate specifications of the IC? We just want to make sure we apply the right bias voltage an avoid damaging the ICs.

Thank you, Keith
