Hi Team,

The customer needs to select an IC for CAT5 cable connector.

Here are the customer's requirements:

1. CAT5 cable connector

2. Video resolution:1920x1200@60hz(30M),1600x1200@60hz(150m),1280x1024@60hz(300m)

3. Power supply: 5V DC

4. Video Output: VGA Interface

5. Support audio output

6. Support Maximum 300m

7. Operating Temperature: -55° C to 125° C

Can you recommend a suitable IC?

Hi Mickey,

For 150 - 300 meters CAT5 cable is not a good choice, the attenuation and noise would be excessive.
Maybe using a quality coax along with some of our SDV devices could be a partial solution.
The temperature range is also quite limiting, most devices are limited to -40 - 85C industrial range.

The LMH0324 can equalize up to 280 meters of 75 ohm coaxial cable at 1.485 Gbps.

Hi Mickey,

As Lee noted, CAT5 cable is much more lossy than regular B1694A 75 ohm coax cable. Using coax 75 ohm could be a better option. LMH0324 has the longest 1.5G 75 ohm cable reach in our products.
