Hi team,

My customer is going to use DS92LX1621 and DS92LX1622 in DISPLAY MODE and cofigrations all DEFAULT MODE
without using I2C Bi-Directional Control.

This customer asks whether there is any problem when he sets SER and DES pins both to HIGH(slave)
if he doesn't using I2C Bi-Directional Control.

Please let me know.

According to his evaluation, it seems that there is no problem in DISPLAY with this setting.
The customer says there are some boards that don't lock with SER(Slave)-DES(Master) setting,
So, the customer wants to use DS92LX1621 and DS92LX1622 with SER and DES pins both to HIGH(slave).

Best regards,

  • Hi team,

When the customer doesn't use BI-DIRECTIONAL CONTROL BUS,
    can he use DS92LX1621 and DS92LX1622 with the Ser-Des M/S settings slave-slave?

Would you please let me know.

    Best regards,
    Fumio Nakano

  • Hi team,

Since I could not get an inquiry response, I will answer the customer as follows.

The complementary setting of M/S configration in the description of "DESCRIPTION OF BI-DIRECTIONAL CONTROL
BUS AND I2C MODES" section in the data sheet page 25 is applied also when not using BI-DIRECTIONAL CONTROL BUS.

If you set Ser-Des M/S configration to slave-slave, please use these devices at your own risk.

    Thank you.

    Best regards,
    Fumio Nakano
