Hi. I would like to know if exist clear line loop on High Speed interface.

I mean physical loop Rx to Tx without any other internal schematics like clock recovery etc.

Hi Yuli,

The deep remote loopback is able to connect TX with RX physically. Please take a look into Figure 5-6 of TLK10034 datasheet.

According to the Figure 5-6 this is deep loopback - includes all schematics in the pass.
I'm looking for loop back as close as possible to High speed interface.
I actually need this loop in 1G mode.

Please take a look into the TLK10034 datasheet (includes the block diagram for every loopback), there are several types of loopback, is there any useful for you?

Hi, Luis.

Nope. None of them is suitable for me.

Because internal schematics is involved in data path.

The problem is auto negotiation process

The HiF side is connected to device with AN.

This will operate correctly with true physical loop.

If TI PHY can be configured as shallow local loop (with HI side Tx connected to Rx) so why it cannot be connected in remote loop?

Hello Yuli,

This loopback is not possible since the main purpose of the loopback modes is test the system/device. The loopback modes available for this device are shallow local, deep local and deep remote. Maybe you could enable the HS PRBS Generator/Verifier to test this link.

I see.

The purpose of this loop is to allow 1G auto neg process.

In case of deep loop back this is impossible.

Do you have any idea?

You can perform the deep remote loopback for the 10GBASE-KR mode to test the AN process.

Hi Yuli,

Auto-Neg occurs only the HS side. The LS side will sends Idles at 3.125G until ready. If the HS side says 1G, then both switch to 1G and 3 of the 4 LS lanes (that are unused) turn off. Hence, you could try the deep remote loopback (10GBASE-KR mode) to test the AN.
