Dear team,

Please help us to resolve a frame synchronization problem.

DS90UB940 outputs FE and FS packets against 720p frame input as expected.
Under the default configuration, the Frame Blanking Period seemed to be less than 1 us.
In the meantime, micro controller requests more than 64 lines period of frame blanking period.

MIPI document insists bellows:

1092 The Line Blanking Period is not fixed and may vary in length. The receiver should be able to cope with a
1093 near zero Line Blanking Period as defined in [MIPI01]. The transmitter defines the minimum time for the
1094 Frame Blanking Period. The Frame Blanking Period duration should be programmable in the transmitter.

It means that CSI-2 source needs to have flexibility of changing frame blanking period.
Can you advise me if DS90UB940 can realize this request and if so, please let me know how to change the frame blanking period?

Hello,

There is no way to adjust this manually within the 940. The CSI-2 output will run at a fixed frequency (based on PCLK and mode) and the FS/FE timing will be based on the sync signals received from the serializer. If the video timing input to the serializer is adjusted to have more vertical blanking, the time between FE and FS at the 940 output will be adjusted automatically.
