TLK10034: Support for QSFP+ for General Purpose 40Gpbs Transceiver?

Part Number: TLK10034
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLK1102E

Is it possible to use all four channels to create a fast and in some way synchronized 40Gbps Link using all four general purpose SERDES high speed channels to connect to a QSFP+ optical transceiver module? Some sort of synchronisation would be required to re-align the data packets in the right order after reception.

  • Hi Markus,

Theoretically would be possible , although is not recommended because both devices have to be synchronized and locked. As well, you will need to implement more components to support QSFP+. Basically a deskew will be the issue.

TLK1102E supports QSFP+ but it is a dual-channel equalizer for applications in digital high-speed links with data rates up to 11.3Gbps, hence, this device is not a transceiver.
