DS90UB913Q-Q1: MODE pin resistor value different between two different datasheet vesrion SNLS420B and SNLS420D

Part Number: DS90UB913Q-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90UB914Q-Q1

Hi, Team

An automotive camera and SRV customer start using DS90UB913Q-Q1 from 4 years ago. They use "PCLK from imager mode". Accroding to DS90UB913Q-Q1 datasheet "SNLS420B", the MODE resistor should be 0ohm.

They come across issue when some DS90UB913Q-Q1 pair with some DS90UB914Q-Q1, DS90UB914Q-Q1 can not LOCK.

We check the latest DS90UB913Q-Q1 datasheet "SNLS420D", the MODE resistor is changed to 100kohm. After make the modifcation, the issue fix.

Why the MODE resistor value change in new version datasheet? Is there IC design change?

Is there any risk if customer keep 0ohm MODE resistor for "PCLK from imager mode" according to SNLS420B for the old product already in the market? Any work around solution?

Thanks

  • hi,

100k is recommended configuration for PCLK from imager mode.   0 ohm is not recommended.

0 ohm will place DS90UB913Q into PCLK from imager mode, but also will enable an auto-sleep function that is no longer supported.

There's no work around other than replace the 0 ohm resistor with 100K ohm.

    Sincerely,

    Charley Cai
