DS90UB927Q-Q1: The BIST function problem

Part Number: DS90UB927Q-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90UB927Q,

We use DU90UB927Q  to offer FPD-LINk III signal to  DU90UB924Q  , the LOCK & PASS  of  DU90UB924Q is high  . The   DU90UB924Q without any problem , so we think  the  DU90UB927Q  work abnormal .  Then i used  BIST function ,he figure as follows(IN DS90UB927Q datasheet page 17)

But this function isn't work ,who can help me

  • Hello,

Firstly, it's good that the LOCK and PASS on 924 is high, which indicates the 927/924 link gets lock. I'm confused why you think 927 work abnormal.

Secondly, could you explain the detailed issue when doing BIST?

When doing BIST, you should set the register 0x24 on 924 to 0x01 (bist configure through register, use internal 33MHz clock for BIST, enable BIST). Do BIST as long as you want, and disable BIST by setting Reg 0x24 to 0x00. And check forward channel error by reading 0x24 on 924 and check CRC error by reading 0x1C(bit2).

    Best regards,
    Cera
