TCA9535: TCA9535 questions

Part Number: TCA9535
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCA6424A, PCA9534

Hi,

There are some questions of TCA9535 in Primax, could you please give some feedback? Thanks!

1) For example of PCA9534, suppose that all of IO pins (8 channel defined as input) change the status at same time, how it echo the changes? Parallel processing or distributed processing? ? TCA9535 and TCA6424A?

2) Suppose that IC are processing the interrupt event, there are some level shift at input Pin. How does the IC do? Lost the data?

3) What is Effective action of input pin (flip an IO? Or rising edge shift?)

4)What is max data rate of IO for PCA9534?

5) do there need some time if we write expander by I2C?

6) if we communicate with expander each 2mS, how much i2C communication rate(KHZ) is OK?

  • Hello Roger,

    1)  This is done all at once, I am assuming that is what you mean by parallel processing.

    2)  The IC looks for a state change.  Then that gets put into the shift register.  I am not sure what you mean "Lost the data?".  Can you elaborate on the question.

    3)  It is done state change, not rising or falling edge.

    4)  We support 400kHz I2C operation.

    5)  I am not sure I understand the question, can you elaborate?

    6)  Let me get back to you on that one.
