TCA6416A: "overshoot" & "undershoot"

Part Number: TCA6416A

Hi,

Please tell me about the allowable values of input signal "overshoot" & "undershoot" for the following devices.

・TCA6416APWR

Basically I understand that it meets absolute maximum ratings and ESD immunity.
But please tell us the actual "actual value" (allowable value) on use.

best regards

  • Hello Cafain,

The absolute maximum allowable voltage on the input without breaking the part is minimum of -0.5V and maximum of 6.5V.

Though, these voltages will not break the device, the performance of the device may not be the same as what is characterized.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ti recommends the input be at maximum of Vcci for SDA/SCl.

5.5V for RESET, ADDR, and port pins. Minimum recommended for those pins are also -0.5V. While within these ranges, you can expect our device to follow datasheet specs.

    Thanks,

    -Bobby
