PCA9544A: PCA9544A and PCA9545A

Part Number: PCA9544A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCA9545A, , TCA9544A, TCA9545A

Hi Team,

What's the difference between PCA9544A and PCA9545A? If these are Pin to Pin?   If customer use PCA9544A on their board and want to change to PCA9545A, anything else need to be changed?

Thank you.

  • Hi Lilian,

PCA9544A has three address pins, while PCA9545A has two address pins and a reset pin. When moving from PCA9544A to PCA9545A, they should ensure that the /RESET pin is either properly controlled (e.g., by an MCU) or pulled high if not needed in the application.

Have you considered the TCA9544A and TCA9545A parts instead? In general the "TCA" product families have several improvements and bug fixes compared to the comparable "PCA" parts.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

    Regards,
    Max
