TCA9800: I2C issue

Part Number: TCA9800

The I2C rising\falling time waveform were fail that we measured in our design.

The I2C CLK voltage dropped off (2.6V) when we plugged cable.

We want to use the I2C repeater to improve the situation.

  • Hey Chris,

Can you provide us with a schematic and waveforms of the failure so we can get an better idea what is going on?

Also, TCA9800 utilizes a current source on B side to keep track of which side is pulling low, if you have a pull up resistor tied to this side then it can cause issues with the detection algorithm. Please check and make sure you do not have a pull up resistor on B side (or a switch connected to B side which requires a pull up resistor on the other side of the channel).

    Thanks,

    -Bobby
