Hi Everone,

I am working with P82B715 IC for long ditance I2C communication.

I read the datasheet and understand that there is no noise margin for this IC, the output will appear same as the input.

Is my understanding is correct??

Also VCC is 4.5V to 12V as per datasheet. Can I pull up SDA and SCL lines on both side of buffer with 1.8V??

If I do like this,will this affect performance??

I requesting to provide me the information as soon as possible.

Hello Arun,

You will likely have to use an a translator (like a PCA9306) in between your SDA/SCL of your master to the Sx/Sy of the P82B715 because you need to run the buffer at higher voltages (3V min and usually advice 4.5V or greater). Here is what you need to do. Please let me know if you have more questions.

Hi Francis,

Thanks for your reply.

But by reading datasheet in understand that the input and Output Bus lines are not depend on Supply voltage and no noise margin. Why I must not connect 1.8V pull up resistor with 5V supply voltage.

Is my understanding is wrong??
