SN65HVDA100-Q1 / questions about EMC, RXD Output and EN

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65HVDA100-Q1, SN65HVDA100

Hello,

I have some questions about SN65HVDA100-Q1.

(1) EN conditions at the Supply Current
There are two test conditions of Supply current as EN=low and EN=0V in datasheet P.12.
Could you please let me know the difference between EN=low and EN=0V ?
I think that  EN=0V is used for sleepmode. Thus, I think EN=0V is used for reducing supply current.

(2) RXD output
Could you please let me know the on resistance value of  RXD pin opendrain FET ?
Our customer requests the VOL of RXD pin. I think that VOL is desided by pull up resistance and on resistance and pullup voltage.

(3) EMC
Could you please let me know how to SN65HVDA100 achieve EMC?
Our customer request the concrete measure of EMC in this device.

  • Hello Asaka-san,

Please see my answers below in blue.

You can treat these two conditions as the same thing. The EN pin a standard TTL input with additional pull-down to place the device in a low power condition in the case where this pin is left floating. The reason this specification has the condition of EN=0V, is so that the current will be as low as possible. From an application standpoint, there is no difference between a low input, and a 0V input.

    (2) RXD output
Could you please let me know the on resistance value of  RXD pin opendrain FET ?
Our customer requests the VOL of RXD pin. I think that VOL is desided by pull up resistance and on resistance and pullup voltage.

You are correct, this will depend on what the output is driving. Unfortunately, I do not have any data on the load current vs. output voltage of this pin right now. I will go into the lab and get a typical results for you in the next day or so.

    (3) EMC
Could you please let me know how to SN65HVDA100 achieve EMC?
Our customer request the concrete measure of EMC in this device.

We have an EMC report from a 3rd part vendor for automotive OEM approvals. Please email me directly at johngriffith@ti.com so I can share this with you. I do not want to post it on an external forum.

    Thanks,

    John

  • Hi Asaka-san,

I took some data points in the lab on output voltage verses output current. I swept current from 50µA to 2mA and then measured the output voltage. See data below:
