Hello all,

it is written that sn65hvd75's data rate is upto 20mbsp.

I want to know if it can transmit a signal that has data rate 20Mbps but pulse widths are smaller than 30ns? (It is a 20MHz signal but duty cycle is not %50, smaller than %50) It is clock output signal of TLC5971 led driver ic.

Hello Mahturk,

the specified data rate for the SN65HVD75 is 20 Mbps, not 20 MHz. Usually the maximum rise time, tr, is specified with being 30% of the minimum unit interval, or bit time, tui. This translates to a minimum pulse of tui = 3.333 x tr. The maximum rise time for the SN65HVD75 is specified with 14ns, hence the minimum pulse width is tui = 3.333 x 14ns = 46.67ns.

The HSN65HVD75 will therefore not be able to support shorter pulse-width, such as 30ns.
