Dear Sirs and Madams,

I`m looking for a application-note or schematic to create the hardware of an M-Bus Master.

I found TI offers an IC which is only useable for slave-hardware. I know the website www.m-bus.com too.

Can anyone give me information how to create the hardware of a m-bus-master interface which can be connected to at least 40 Slaves?

Hi Harmin,

I just checked with one of our end equipment solutions teams that work with e-metering solutions and unfortunately I do not think that TI offers any transceivers for this high voltage 2 wire interface.

I have asked to see if they have any white papers or example schematics and will let you know when I hear back.

Hi Harmin,

I just heard back from the team, and this is what they told me:

For wired MBus, we have TSS721A for MBus application. It is like a level convertor to translate MBus signal to UART for the MCUs.

This chip is for slave devices. We don’t have chip solution for master devices.
