I have a simple question about a termination of CAN tranveiver.

The terminating resistor should be 120ohm(60ohm x 2).

How much the minimum value of the terminating resistor?

Hi Koji,

Per the ISO 11898 standard the termination resistors in a CAN bus network have a minimum value of 100 ohms and a maximum value of 130 ohms with a typical value of 120 ohms. Please let me know if you have any more questions.

Thank you for your answer. However the customer have some more questions.

How much the Max of output current of driver? The customer would like to consider about minimum actual value of the termination resistor.

The customer are considering SN65HVD251.

HI Koji,

The maximum output current of the SN65HVD251 driver is listed in the datasheet under the recommended operating conditions. The driver is able to support ±50mA.
