  • Matsumoto-san,

    I think that I answered this same question already. Can you please take a look at this thread?

  • Max san,

    When we open URL-link e2e.ti.com/.../409702, the following messages show.
    That'why, we made a new distribution.

  • Matsumoto-san,

    I'm sorry, there must be some issue with the forum right now. I've copied the original response below.

    ________

    Hello Matsumoto-san,

    Spec item 1.2 refers to continuous voltages, not transients. DC voltages within this range will not cause immediate damage to the the device, although overall lifetime may be reduced if the device is operated under these limit conditions for extended periods. Item 1.4 refers to short-duration transient events. For these, a higher voltage level can be tolerated because the duration is shorter. That spec item specifically refers to the transient waveforms defined by ISO 7637 (test pulses 1, 2, 3a, and 3b).

    Please let me know if you have any questions.

  • Max san,

    Thank you for your prompt reply.

    We have two additional questions.

    <Q1>
    You mentioned Spec item 1.2 refers to continuous voltages, not transients.
    So, how long of transients period can the device eudure?
    Or, how long can the device use under the condition which is limit over?
    Of cource, we recommend that our customer use within spec item 1.2.

    <Q2>
    About ISO7637 test pulses 1, 2, 3a and 3b, if you know how long of a period each pulses are,
    could you let us know these?
    Our recognition is followings, so are these correct?
    -ISO7637 test pulses 1: pulse period 2ms
    -ISO7637 test pulses 2(a): pulse period 50us±10us
    -ISO7637 test pulses 3a/3b: 150ns±45ns

    Kind regards,

    Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • Matsumoto-san,

    As Max mentioned, Spec item 1.2 addresses DC voltages, so there is no information regarding transients beyond these specifications.  The transient information is given in Spec item 1.4.

    Regarding ISO7637, the pulse durations are as follows:

    • Pulse 1: 2ms
    • Pulse 2(a): 50us
    • Pulse 3(a) & (b): 100ns

  • Bart san,

    Thank you for your prompt reply!
    OK, we got these exactly.

    Kind regards,

    Hirotaka Matsumoto
