SN65HVDA1040A-Q1 Ii(off) specification

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65HVDA1040A-Q1

Hi all,
According to the datasheet of SN65HVDA1040A-Q1,
the power-off bus input current (unpowered bus leakage current), Ii(off) is 3uA (max).
However according to Figure 15. Equivalent Input and Output Schematic Diagrams,
there are 20K and 10K register  on the CANL/CANH Inputs  and these are connected to GND.

Is there any trick on the circuit when Vcc=0V?

Regards,
Toshi

  • Hello Toshi-san,

Yes, the device was designed so that the bus impedance is high when the device is unpowered - the 3 uA maximum Ii(off) value is accurate. This isn't shown in the equivalent circuit diagrams. Those diagrams are simplified in order to describe the functionality of the device; in general, they are not literal representations of the internal circuitry.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Regards,
    Max
