[SN65HVD1786] Output Hi-Z condition when Vcc is low

Hi,

My customer hopes that the each output turns into Hi-Z by DE/RE when Vcc is below 4.5V.

Questions are;

・Does DE/RE pin function when Vcc is below 4.5V ?

・If above is "Yes", is this function guaranteed?

Thanks

Kuramochi

  • Hello Tadahiko,

    the ROC of that device suggests a Vcc voltage of at least 4.5 V, but at roomtemperature the device works fine even with 3.3 V. So below 4.5 V, the DE and /RE pin work fine.
    But: this is out of ROC, therefore not recommended and guaranteed.

    I'm not 100% sure, what you mean with "each output". A, B and R? They are not turning to Hi-Z when the Vcc voltage drops below 4.5 V. Their impedance is still dependent on the settings of D and DE, /RE.

    Best regards
